Technical Inside Sales Representative

Pneumatic and Hydraulic Company | Geismar, LA

Pay: $19.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Full-Time | In-Person

Inside Sales Experience Required

Pneumatic and Hydraulic Company is seeking an experienced Technical Inside Sales Representative to join our Geismar team.

This is not an entry-level sales position. A minimum of 2 years of inside sales experience is required.

We are looking for someone who has experience working directly with customers, preparing quotes and sales orders, processing orders, supporting outside sales, and coordinating with purchasing, vendors, and shipping/receiving.

Experience in industrial distribution, hydraulics, pneumatics, fluid power, MRO, valves, pumps, hoses and fittings, instrumentation, automation, oil & gas, or other technical products is strongly preferred.

What You'll Do

As a Technical Inside Sales Representative, you will be an important point of contact for our customers and will work closely with our Outside Sales, Purchasing, Shipping & Receiving, and Operations teams.

Responsibilities include:

• Handle incoming customer calls and provide excellent customer service
• Prepare customer quotes and sales orders
• Sell company products and services over the phone
• Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions
• Manage and develop existing customer relationships
• Prospect and follow up with potential customers
• Support Outside Sales Representatives with customer and product needs
• Work with Purchasing to determine product availability and lead times
• Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
• Coordinate with Shipping & Receiving to ensure timely order fulfillment
• Assist with inventory control
• Resolve customer service and order issues
• Maintain accurate customer and order information
• Manage multiple customer requests, projects, and priorities
• Develop strong knowledge of our products and the industries we serve

Minimum Qualifications – Please Review Before Applying

Required:

• 2+ years of Inside Sales experience
• Experience working directly with customers by phone and email
• Experience with quoting, sales orders, order processing, or customer account support
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Ability to work in person at our Geismar, LA location Monday–Friday

Strongly Preferred:

• Industrial or technical inside-sales experience
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, fluid power, hoses/fittings, valves, pumps, MRO products, instrumentation, automation, industrial equipment, or related products
• Experience supporting Outside Sales Representatives
• Purchasing, inventory, vendor, or supply-chain experience
• Experience with P21 or another ERP/order-entry system
• Experience working with industrial, manufacturing, petrochemical, oil & gas, or plant customers

Compensation & Benefits

$19.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience
